Hello!
This is Tazz on myspace.........
br>
The name of my band is K.P. we do Christian, Experimental, Progressive,
GOD ROCK.
We are only a 2 piece band with lots of gear......
My name is Stedman Price and I've been playing drums since I was 14 years
old. I am now 47 soon to be 48, that's 34 years I've been playing drums.
WOW! My dad bought me a snare drum and made me play rudiments on it for
a year before I could go any further, He quized me once a month. After
I had learned all the rudiments by memory he bought me a small trap set
of Tempro drums, then it was on.
He made me play to Buddy Rich albums, The Ventures, Bill Haley and the
Comets, Trenny Lopez, Stuff like this that he had in his album collection,
that was really good for the times. Funny thing was, I was not allowed to
listen to these records until I started playing drums, he thought this
stuff was to heavy for kids back then, when he wasn't at home I was playing
to Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Yes, King Crimson, and stuff he didn't know
was there. I got my first paying and playing job at 15, with a local country
band, and I stayed in that until I graduated from High School. It was during
this time I bought myself a Red set of Ludwig Vistalites, Which I turned
into a monster in those years of playing.
During this time also I discoversd new bands Like E.L.P., Yes, more of
King Crimson's work, anything complicated and hard to play was for me.
I wouldn't listen to my friends who would say 'You can't do that'! I
just went ahead and did it. All I did back then was play, even when my
parents got home at night I would put towels on the drums so they
left me alone to play.
I traveled with a show band after High School doing USO Shows up and down
the east coast for one and a half years. We also went to Greenland to
play at two bases there for a period of 12 weeks.
Since then I've played in every kind of band you can think of, more
country, rock, metal, beach, jazz, progressive rock, full circle.
I played in more crappy little venues from South Ga. to Jersey on the East
coast and as far west as Texas than I care to remember.
Now the music I play and write is
For The Glory Of God who gave me this
talent, and this is my way of paying tribute for these gifts and
blessings. My band mate is Stephen Kirby, we met and started playing
together when we were about 20 years old. We went on many musical
adventures together in alot of different bands back then. We have both
come full circle in our playing and have now been back together for the
last 8 years doing what we do best.
God bless !!!
