a parking fox mi banda actual.
Biography:
I was just five years old when I discovered Rock and Roll. My brother and
I where from middle class parents who ran a small fish market, and it was
in these humble beginnings where my brother would play music from bands
such as Red Baron, Asia, and the best Heavy Metal sounds of the day such
as Iron Maiden and AC/DC.
As I grew, this world of music began to interest me and at the age of
seven I wanted to study music. My parent however where not convinced
that this would be a good career move, and enrolled me in the local
academy to study. It was a year later that my grandparents bought my
brother a drum set at great expense and sacrifice, after which he
formed his own band. Learning to play as he went along, he got to be
quite good but his band mates and the other musicians with which he
spent his time never really were too serious about it. Neither was
my brother, although he did get offers to play with big groups,
orchestras at that time, and various Blues bands from Valencia.
In 1994 he quit music to follow other careers, while I at the age of
eight finally began studying music after having convinced my mother.
At the age of fourteen I owned my first set of drums which I still
keep to this day. Perhaps someday I will have it covered in leopard skin,….
(Heh, Heh, Heh,… this is just a strange thought I have from time to time!)
After finally owning my own drum set, I went about in search of other
musicians, and so it was that one of my school buddies offered me the
drummer's slot in a band his brother was in. I was neither slow nor
lazy and quickly grabbed the opportunity to audition with little more
than middle grade schooling in music and drums. I think they were so
in need of a drummer that they just took me anyway. I practiced hard
throughout the year and as we became established musicians I received
an offer to play in an Orchestra from Alzira, where with barely a bit
of rehearsal we went of to play in Zaragoza, from were I began what
would be my life of musical wandering. It has been a life of dreams,
laughter, disappointments and frustration. Despite the many deceptions
and failures, I truly wanted to live the lifestyle which I have
cultivated to this day.
And now we finally arrive at what truly is of interest to us.... Rock & Roll ! ! …
In 1995 I devoted myself to finding other musicians interested in forming
a heavy metal band, since at the time I was enthralled with the likes of
Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden. We performed at various concerts even as I
started at the conservatory for studies in percussion. I played in the
municipal band of my hometown, Mislata, and after five years I graduated
from my studies. France was my next stop, were my group participated in a
percussion competition. We won the "Best Spanish Percussion Group" award.
From 1996 - 1997 we traveled throughout Valencia and were awarded various
prizes in percussion performance and excellence.

"Monte Aldea", my first really serious band in which we recorded various
compositions of which I am particularly proud and still keep on MP3. so
as to preserve the sound quality. We also mastered a Jazz work with a
North American professor, I am very proud of the work we did together
thank him for all he taught me and how he treated me. I played often
with my band 'Aldea' but the thing was there were some rough times when
everything came to a stop because we couldn't find a Bass player.
Eventually we came across one in the years 1998 through 99, and in 2000
we recorded an album which regretfully was never mastered due to lack of
money since we were all students and not all of us had jobs. I do still
plan to finish the work as a nostalgic piece, since I was given the rights
to the songs and we all were and remain good friends.
In time I came to meet the musicians that became the band Golem, a
symphonic hard rock band of the style popular during the seventies
with influences from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black
Sabbath and Pink Floyd. I filled what was then the empty chair of
the drummer, while my best friend played keyboards. We performed
throughout the regions of Albacete, Cuenca, Madrid, Barcelona and
we won a session to record an album of our own. Having decided on
the tracks for our album we were off to Aural Studios in Xirivella
to lay down some tracks and mix. Unfortunately we ran into some
problems because my friend the keyboard player simply couldn't
quite agree with the band's singer. As the recording session came
to an end the band slowly started to lose members, at first simply
working gigs as a trio and eventually just me and the lead vocalist.
We both sought out and eventually found a reliable bass player and in
time started performing again as a trio. Things started looking up for
us and upon returning to our hometown, our old fans practically were
hallucinating as they found that we sounded stronger than ever!
Unfortunately our bass player turned out not to be so reliable due to
a cocaine addiction he nurtured; and shortly afterwards I crossed paths
with the band "Parking Fox", in which I am currently playing.
Parking Fox was always a well known band were I grew up and since I
was a youngster I saw them play often, never once thinking that I
would actually get to play in the band! It was in 2003 when I started
playing drums for Parking, they accepted me without question and
immediately started rehearsals. It wasn't long before we where ready
to record what was to become their next album: "Destrucción + Iva".
Later in 2003 we premiered the band with it's new drummer (me, of course)
and a brand new drum set at the "TitaRock" festival of Titaguas. After
great celebration and many more performances, the year 2004 rolled in
and we started to record the new album we had been working on. It was
the summer of 2005 when we debuted the album to great critical acclaim
in such publications as Metal Hammer, Heavy Rock, Fanzines and various
radio stations throughout the country.
To this day Parking Fox is composing new songs for it's next album which
will be out shortly. My own musical career finds me starting a project in
the style I have with great difficulty perfected in Spain. It's what really
moves me these days, and I'm recording bits of it now in the studio. It's
a long term project but it will be very interesting. I hope to assemble
in this project various foreign musical influences, and after that,… well,
Lets just see what happens.
For Now I wish you all much health, happiness, and lots of Rock and Roll!!!!
