When asked about her early performances Grayson explains, "As a young girl, I can remember being very afraid of performing in front of others, as I expected they might not want to see a female play drums. The more I played, the more I loved performing for others."
Alice, now touring full time for country artist Wes Loper, described her
experiences as a female in a field dominated by men:
"It took a little getting used to. When I started performing live,
some people loved it, others would scratch their heads, some would tell me
they thought it was cute. I've had all kinds of different reactions. But I
try not to judge people by their reaction to something outside the norm.
It's human nature. Now, I just hope to encourage other girls to start
drumming." says Grayson. Alice will continue to tour with Wes Loper in
2007 so keep your eyes open for the Wes Loper Band in your area.
