This was a smaller installation that posed many problems. First, the congregation
had already invested a substantial amount of money into existing equipment that
they did not wish to replace. Second, the location was small and space posed a
problem. Third, they were unable to acheive sufficient gain before feedback, since
the speakers where not correctly positioned. I was able to integrate most of the
existing equipment, keep new equipment purchases to a minimum, and create much more
floor space than they originally had before by flying both the main and the monitor
speakers, making use of the low ceiling with the monitors.
Equipment used from previous purchases:
- Mackie 24 channel mixing console
- Alesis MidiVerb effects unit
(purchased but never used)
- Crown Power Amplifiers
- EV force speaker cabinets loaded with dual 15" and horn
- EV SV series speakers
Additional Equipment purchased:
- DBX dual 1/3rd octave equalizer
- DBX dual compresser limiter gate combo
- JBL EON 1500 series speakers
(for musician's monitors)
